Providence St. Joseph Health – A Pillar of Support

For 24 years, Providence St. Joseph Health and its ministries in Orange County—St. JosephLink to larger version of image Hospital, Mission Hospital and St. Jude Medical Center—have partnered with Hope Builders to improve conditions of the most vulnerable Orange County residents. In addition to providing direct patient care, Providence St. Joseph Health partners with Hope Builders to connect disadvantaged youth to career opportunities that transform their lives.

Link to larger version of imageSince Hope Builders’ founding in 1995, employees throughout the Providence St. Joseph Health system have served as volunteers and employers of Hope Builders’ youth, coaching them for interviews, connecting them to open job positions, and serving as mentors guiding their professional development.

Providence St. Joseph Health employees also serve as strategic advisors through Hope Builders’ 100 and the board of directors. Katie Skelton, chief nursing officer at St. Joseph Hospital, and current chair of Hope Builders’ board of directors, is driving the agency’s growth and development as it seeks to expand its impact and build a pipeline of skilled, reliable employees to meet local employer demands.
