JPMorgan Chase: Investing in Orange County’s Workforce
JPMorgan Chase & Co. has joined Guaranty Chevrolet and SC Fuels as the Premier Sponsor of Hope Builders’ Light Up A Life gala. On September 17, JPMorgan Chase will join 550 other Orange County philanthropists to recognize the tremendous efforts of Hope Builders’ trainees as they strive to advance their education and skills so that they can achieve enduring personal and professional success.
Since 2009, JPMorgan Chase has partnered with Hope Builders to help close the skills gap in Orange County. Employees of JPMorgan Chase help prepare Hope Builders’ youth for the workforce by participating in mock interviews, making personal gifts and serving on the agency’s board of directors.
“I’m really proud to work with Hope Builders. Watching the changes we’ve been able to make in people’s lives is inspiring” Rick Nogueira, head of JPMorgan Chase’s Middle Market Banking in Orange County and a member of Hope Builders’ board of directors.
In addition to sponsoring the gala, JPMorgan Chase has awarded Hope Builders a $250,000 grant as part of New Skills at Work, a $250 million global initiative that supports demand-driven skills training to ensure that people are trained and competitive for middle-skill jobs. JPMorgan Chase also has commissioned a skills gap report on healthcare, information technology and advanced manufacturing in Orange County to be released by the Orange County Business Council in July. Hope Builders is grateful for the longtime support of JPMorgan Chase and its commitment to helping Hope Builders bridge the gap between youth in our community, who are eager to work, and employers, who need skilled, reliable employees.
