Trainee Spotlight: Angelica O.
Meet Angelica
At 25 years old, Angelica enrolled in Hope Builders’ Behavioral Therapy training program to help kick-start her dream career. Prior to Hope Builders, Angelica enrolled in college, hoping to become an Elementary School Teacher, but struggled financially to support herself and her two young boys, so she dropped out. The financial instability inevitably led her to put a pause on her dreams and pick up odd jobs to make ends meet. She wanted to be a good role model for her boys and teach them to follow their dreams, so she continued to seek educational opportunities, which brought her to Hope Builders.
Angelica always loved working with children and was inspired to pursue a career as a Behavioral Therapist after her son’s diagnosis with Autism. Immediately following Angelica’s successful completion of training, she was hired by Hope Builders’ employer partner, United Behavior Consultants earning $19.50 per hour with full benefits and educational reimbursement. Angelica looks forward to being able to help other parents better understand their child’s needs. In the future, she plans on returning to college to obtain a degree in Education and growing in her career. “Hope Builders is an amazing place where people get second chances and one isn’t given up on,” said Angelica. “Thank you for helping me fulfill my dream!”
