HBCC Employer Partners- Connecting young adults to life changing careers
Thank you to the Hope Builders Career Connections (HBCC) employer partners who participated in this week’s interviews with candidates from the recent construction training cohort.
Over the past 12 weeks, training incorporated construction fundamentals, OSHA-10 Certification, construction theory, daily math and leadership development. In addition to simulating the workforce, young adults enrolled in Hope Builders’ construction program received contextualized basic skills remediation, a $100 weekly stipend, and financial assistance for childcare and transportation. Trainees who demonstrated hard skills mastery and the following behaviors critical to workplace success: accountability, initiative, productivity, grit and leadership advanced to interviews as the next step of Hope Builders’ student journey.
Hope Builders’ social enterprise, HBCC, connects candidates to local employers for both direct placement and temp-to-hire career opportunities. HBCC secured job orders from employer partners, presented them to the class and helped guide trainees as they made their interview selections. After gathering feedback from both the candidates and employers, HBCC matches candidates to each job order, ultimately, launching these young adults into careers with the following companies:
- 24HRC Restoration & Construction
- AJ Kirkwood & Associates
- First Rate Remodeling
- Forefront Construction Services
- Mammoth Electric
- Morrow Meadows
- Pan-Pacific Mechanical
- Sunwest Electric
We look forward to updating you on their continued success as we continue to support them over the next six months to ensure job retention and employer satisfaction.
