Banc of California: Making Opportunity Possible for Young Adults

Banc of California

Hope Builders is honored to recognize Banc of California for their dedication to empowering young adults. For more than a decade, their partnership with Hope Builders has created opportunities for success for young people who are disconnected from the workforce, helping them gain the tools and confidence to build meaningful careers and achieve financial stability. In addition to their financial support, Banc of California team members generously serve as mock-interview volunteers and board members, further strengthening our programs and advancing our mission to build pathways to prosperity.

One of those young adults is Kelly. At age 26, the single mom faced challenges that felt impossible to overcome. She lost her job while pregnant. Soon after, her car broke down, plunging her into a seemingly never-ending cycle of barely making ends meet for herself and her young baby.

From the moment Kelly first walked through Hope Builders’ doors, everything began to change. She trained in the Child Development Careers program, which aligned with her passion for helping people and taught her the technical skills to begin working with children with developmental delays. Beyond training, Hope Builders helped her plan for reliable transportation and childcare, critical supports she needed to stay on track.

Through HBCC, Hope Builders’ social enterprise staffing agency, Kelly was matched with an employer partner where she could put her training into practice. Today, she works as a Behavior Technician, earning $22 an hour and building a stable future for herself and her child.
