Hope Builders Trainees Visit Turner Construction Job Site
Turner Construction Company recently hosted our Construction Training Program trainees at the Cal OES job site in Costa Mesa, where they toured the new project currently being graded and prepped for construction. Trainees learned firsthand about the extensive work involved in starting a project—from design approval, permitting, demolition, hazardous-materials abatement, land preparation, grading and more.
The visit allowed Hope Builders trainees to see what goes into the early phases of a major build and the level of skill and coordination required before any structure takes shape. Turner team members also shared their personal career stories, showing trainees how dedication, the right mindset and continual learning can open doors to leadership. Brittney Parkinson, shared her personal story of working in the field for 9 years before moving into her current position as Community & Citizenship Senior Director. Her advice was to “work hard, be committed and you will be noticed.”
The visit made clear that persistence, curiosity, and teamwork are keys to thriving in construction. Hope Builders is grateful to Turner Construction Company for supporting our trainees and showing them the opportunities ahead.
