The Dhont Family Foundation Opens Doors to Healthcare Careers
Hope Builders recognizes The Dhont Family Foundation for their generous grant to empower youth with the skills and resources needed to successfully enter and thrive in the allied healthcare field. Since 2009, their commitment helps to create meaningful opportunities for young people working to build brighter, more stable futures.
Because of The Dhont Family Foundation’s investment, trainees like Heidi are gaining skills, practical experience, and mentorship needed to launch pathways to prosperity. At age 24, single mother Heidi struggled to support her daughter while earning $16/hour as a receptionist. When the office she worked at went out of business, she realized she needed a career that would provide more stability and long-term opportunities for growth.
Heidi enrolled in Hope Builders’ Clinical Medical Assisting program, where the smaller class sizes and one-on-one support facilitated her success. She dedicated herself to mastering the curriculum and developing patient care skills. Her hard work paid off, and in December she was hired as a medical assistant at United Medical Imaging.
To supporters like The Dhont Family Foundation, Heidi says, “Thank you for this second chance. Thank you for opening doors to a real career and providing the help to achieve this goal. I will forever be thankful”.
We join Heidi in expressing our heartfelt gratitude for The Dhont Family Foundation for their support and commitment to creating opportunity for young people in our community.
