The Sue J. Gross Foundation Invests in Hope and Opportunity

Hope Builders is grateful to the Sue J. Gross Foundation for its commitment to creating new possibilities for young adults. Their generous support equips trainees with industry-recognized skills, career guidance, and the practical assistance needed to move from unemployment or low-wage work into stable careers.

Naomi’s journey reflects the life-changing impact of this support. At 23, she was working in a warehouse to make ends meet, but knew she wanted more for her future. She tried community college, but struggled to keep up with classes and work full-time so eventually dropped out. After enrolling in Hope Builders’ Clinical Medical Assistant training, Naomi discovered a new sense of purpose and possibility. Upon completing the program, she secured a position as a medical assistant .

“Being in this program has truly changed me,” Naomi shares. “I’ve discovered a genuine interest and passion for what I’m learning. It has motivated me in ways I didn’t expect and given me the confidence to pursue a career I can be proud of.”

By partnering with Hope Builders, the Sue J. Gross Foundation is helping build a workforce where young people like Naomi can support themselves, build a brighter future for their families, and meet the workforce needs of Orange County.
