Building Careers Through Connection: DPR Professionals Inspire Hope Builders Trainees

DPR 26 -2

Last month, DPR Construction team members gave Hope Builders trainees an inside look at construction careers and pathways within the industry.

The DPR panel brought together professionals at different stages of their careers, from a laborer and foreman to a project manager and business unit leader with more than 30 years of industry experience.

Trainees enjoyed learning about the different roles within construction, how professionals advance in their careers, and what employers look for in team members. They asked questions about how to break into the industry, what a typical workday looks like, and what it takes to build a successful career in the field.

Panelists shared candid insights from their own experiences, offering practical advice trainees can carry with them as they prepare to enter the workforce. Marc Ness, Southern California Business Unit Leader, reflected on his early days in the industry and emphasized the importance of initiative and dedication sharing, “Hard work and going the extra mile will get you noticed and lead to advancement.”

Following the panel, trainees and the DPR team continued the conversation over lunch, discussing the panelists’ career journeys, and building personal connections.

Thank you to the entire DPR team for sharing their time, experience, and advice with Hope Builders’ trainees.  By helping turn career possibilities into tangible pathways, their investment in the next generation of skilled professionals demonstrates the power of employer partnerships.
