Advancing Economic Opportunity: Promising Futures Orange County

Hope Builders is deeply grateful to Promising Futures Orange County, a fund of the Orange County Community Foundation, for their generous 2025 grant. With their partnership, we are creating opportunities for all young adults, like Aliyah, to enter the workforce and pursue their dreams.

Aliyah came to Hope Builders in search of a fresh start, and found the skills, confidence and support needed to build a brighter future.

After graduating high school, Aliyah struggled to find direction. She had a passion for helping children, but didn’t know how to turn that passion into a career. She faced financial hardships and doubted whether she would ever find a job that made her feel fulfilled.

When she heard about Hope Builders’ comprehensive and free training programs she jumped at the opportunity to launch her career.

At Hope Builders, for the first time, Aliyah began to feel like her dreams were within reach. She learned not only technical skills to build a career working with children, but also essential life skills like professionalism, communication, and how to manage challenges in a positive way.

Upon training completion, Hope Builders Career Connections, the organization’s social enterprise staffing agency, matched Aliyah to full-time employment as a behavioral technician working with children with autism. She now earns $22 an hour and is grateful to be building a career that also leaves a positive impact in her community.

Aliyah shares, “Your support gave me hope, purpose, and the chance to build a meaningful life.”
