As part of the “Million Dollar Dazzle” program celebrating the Resort’s 60th anniversary, Disneyland Resort surprised Hope Builders with a $60,000 donation to benefit the Amigo program, supporting our mission to provide Orange County’s most disadvantaged youth with the life skills and job training needed to achieve enduring personal and professional success. In addition to this generous donation, Disneyland Resort provides ongoing support to the organization, including Disney VoluntEARS, career speakers to inspire students to keep striving for success, in-park leadership development opportunities, gala sponsorship, membership in Hope Builders’ 100, and representation on the board of directors.

“Disneyland Resort is committed to investing in Anaheim’s residents and providing workforce development opportunities through organizations like Hope Builders,” said Elva Rubalcava, Hope Builders board member and manager of Corporate Citizenship at the Disneyland Resort. When asked about which youth story inspired her most, Rubalcava recalled, “The story of Joana, a young mother who had nearly lost all hope until she found herself at the intersection on Harbor and Lincoln only to look up and see the Hope Builders’ sign was very inspiring. To learn that she then signed up for the healthcare program and went on to find a job allowing her to support her family was very moving.”

The support of Disneyland Resort has made it possible for young people like Joana to not only regain hope, but positively change the trajectory of their lives. We are proud to spotlight the Disneyland Resort and thank them for the great work they are doing to positively impact our clients and their community.
