Behr Paint Company – Investing in Orange County Youth

Hope Builders is grateful to Behr Paint Company, and its parent company Masco Corporation, for the multiple ways they invest in its youth. Headquartered in Santa Ana for over 60 years, the Behr leadership team recently welcomed a group of trainees from the Construction Training Program to tour their state-of-the-art R&D facility. From the top down, Behr is committed to investing in the lives of disadvantaged youth and helping launch them their careers in the construction industry. “The wonderful part of Hope Builders is that youth are learning a trade related to our product,” says president, Jeff Filley.

Not only have trainees had the opportunity to tour Behr’s R&D facility, manufacturing and distribution centers, but the national trainer for “Behr University” recently donated a week of his time to train youth on paint production and demonstrate various methods of painting for construction. Behr has also provided overhead projectors, paint brushes and tools and continues to give in-kind donations of paint to the construction training program. Engaging with the youth directly and investing in their future is a priority for Behr. “We believe Hope Builders is truly helping the people who deserve it. This is a perfect intersection of philanthropy, education and community involvement aligning with our company philosophy,” says Drew Hatcher, director of contract management.

Investing $25,000 as a premier sponsor of Light Up a Life is a testament to the commitment Behr is making to advance Hope Builders’ mission. Thank you to Behr for empowering more disadvantaged youth with the training and support needed to launch their careers and transform their lives.
