Hope Builders’ Annual Investor’s Breakfast: Investing in Tomorrow’s Heroes

Hope Builders recently hosted its Annual Investor’s Breakfast—an inspiring morning celebrating the impact of our work today and the vision guiding our future.

Executive Director Shawna Smith shared an update on how Hope Builders is advancing its mission by accomplishing the following over the most recently completed fiscal year:

1. Meeting the needs of underserved young people and employers, by training 254 youth to launch careers in Child Development, Construction, and Medical Assisting fields.
2. Preparing for future growth and uncertainty through stronger infrastructure and strategic planning by identifying performance improvements through direct feedback from our hiring partners.
3. Placing 212 graduates into jobs with support from HBCC, the agency’s social enterprise staffing agency, and generating $238k in net revenue.

Martha, Carlos and Monserat, current Hope Builders trainees, shared their powerful personal journeys and how Hope Builders helped them build confidence, gain critical skills, and realize their potential. As Carlos stated, “We’re all here to improve and grow and learn every day. I’m proud I didn’t let fear hold me back from becoming great.”
