Hope Builders Helps an Employer Meet Workforce Needs

One of our employer partners, Drawer Box Specialties (DBS), recently selected two young adults, Andrew and Damian, from Hope Builders construction training program to join their company.

Hope Builders regularly follows up with employers to ensure satisfaction.
After completing Hope Builders’ construction training program, employer partners offer 12-week paid internships for those who demonstrate readiness and motivation. Hope Builders Construction Company remains the employer of record and provides ongoing coaching and support to ensure retention. During this week’s check-in Jim Irving, General Manager at DBS, shared, “they’ve both been great. We had them working on the CNC machine this morning. Probably the most high-tech piece of equipment we have. Showing lots of potential!”

Hope Builders is a preferred hiring partner for DBS because of previous success.
Irving also shared that on Monday DBS will be converting their first match, Jose, to their team full-time. Jose will be earning $16 per hour. “Thank you for connecting us with Jose. He’s a good man. I hope he works for us for a long time. Nothing but potential for him.”

Before coming to Hope Builders, Jose spent almost a decade in jail; he hoped that Hope Builders would give him a second chance. Thanks to wonderful partners like DBS, Jose is launching his career in the construction industry.

Because of you, Hope Builders will continue to connect motivated young adults through its social enterprise, Hope Builders Construction Company, to careers with local employers. Thank you for your ongoing commitment.
