March Sees 11 Young Adults Launch their Careers

CMA Thank You

On March 10th 2023, 19 young adults, nearly 80% of those who enrolled, successfully completed Hope Builders’ Medical Assisting training program and entered the Career Builder stage of the below Student Journey.

Over the previous 20 weeks, these young men and women mastered the skills needed for back office clinical settings, which include training on HIPAA Compliance and OSHA as well as how to measure vital signs, assist the physician with procedures, give injections, record electrocardiograms and more. They also completed a 160-hour practicum at a partnering doctor’s office or medical clinic.

Since these 19 trainees demonstrated the above skills as well as the reliability needed to show up every day, on time, dressed professionally, with a good attitude they can now work with Hope Builders Career Connections (HBCC)—the organization’s social enterprise staffing agency—to launch their careers with local healthcare employers.

In less than 30 days, nearly 60% of the cohort has already secured jobs with Providence and MemorialCare with an average starting wage of $24.27 per hour and the others remain active in the interview process with other HBCC employer partners. Each of these candidates has interviews scheduled with three different employers, all offering jobs that provide entry to fulfilling careers in the healthcare industry.

We look forward to updating you on their continued success. Thank you, your support, makes this all possible!
