The William and Nancy Thompson Family Foundation Invests in Lasting Opportunity

Hope Builders is grateful to The William and Nancy Thompson Family Foundation for its commitment to creating lasting opportunities for young adults. Through a new three-year grant supporting Hope Builders’ Child Development Careers and Clinical Medical Assisting Programs, the foundation is helping more young adults gain the training and support they need to build careers with lasting impact.

For Kelsi, that opportunity came at an important point in her life. At 19, she felt stuck in a cycle of living paycheck to paycheck, working to cover her bills without seeing a clear path toward advancement.

Through Hope Builders, Kelsi gained the skills and preparation to pursue a career in child development. HBCC then matched her with employment as a Behavior Technician at United Behavior Consultants earning $22/hour. Now, she can begin building professional experience and making a difference in the lives of children and families.

Kelsi’s vision for her career goes beyond her own success. “I want my work to have a lasting impact not only on the children I teach, but also on the families and community I serve for generations to come.”

That’s the Hope Builders Effect: an opportunity today can create impact that continues well into the future. Kelsi is building a career that allows her to support children and families while contributing to a community need.

The William and Nancy Thompson Family Foundation’s investment helps make that kind of lasting change possible. By supporting healthcare training, the foundation is helping create pathways for young adults to move beyond short term jobs and toward careers that can provide stability, purpose, and opportunities for growth.
