U.S. Bank Supports Young Adults and Their Potential
Hope Builders is proud to recognize the U.S. Bank Foundation for its support toward workforce development, which helps young adults move toward a future with greater possibility.
Through its 2026 grant, the U.S. Bank Foundation is contributing to the training and resources that help young people, like Pedro, discover their potential and prepare for careers.
At 21, Pedro had little direction and was working low-wage jobs with no clear path toward a more stable future. After enrolling in Hope Builders’ Construction Training Program, Pedro found a path forward, along with the skills and support to pursue it. He completed training with the confidence and determination to build a career.
Today, Pedro is working at Pacific Masonry Wells, earning $19 an hour. His goal is to continue working his way up in the construction field, helping his family achieve financial stability, and ensuring his siblings can pursue careers of their own.
“Hope Builders has taught me many things and given me the desire to work harder and to never give up on life when it gets hard,” Pedro shares.
Pedro’s journey is a reminder that lasting change often begins with a single opportunity. As he continues to grow in his career and build a more stable future, the progress he makes today can shape what is possible for his family in the years ahead. That is the Hope Builders Effect: one opportunity can become a foundation for generational change.
We are grateful to the U.S. Bank Foundation for supporting young adults as they build the skills, confidence, and careers that can lead to stronger futures for generations to come.
