Hope Builders partners with churches, schools and community-based programs to identify young adults, driven to change their lives. Much like applying for a job, applicants to Hope Builders must fill out an application, take a drug test, show right-to-work documents and participate in an interview. This process helps Hope Builders identify candidates, who are motivated to complete the program and enter the workforce.
Under the direction of licensed professionals, Hope Builders provides skills training in three industries: Construction, Medical Assisting and Behavioral Technician. Hands-on training takes place daily and reinforces employer expectations. Basic skills remediation is embedded into the curriculum so that trainees are equipped with the knowledge needed to succeed on the job. The result? Reliable employees, with marketable skills.
Hope Builders knows that skills training or employment placement alone do not meet the needs of disconnected young adults. Rather, training must include a mix of life skills and supportive services designed to help young adults retain their employment. Upon program enrollment, each trainee is matched with a Support Specialist who works with them to help them achieve tangible goals and strengthen their reliability, grit, initiative, leadership skills and productivity.
